Say you add two 1 – foot leaves to a 5 – foot base. That gives you a table that’s 7 feet long. You can easily seat 8 to 10 people. This is great for those larger family dinners or small – to – medium – sized parties. And if you’ve got a table with the option to add three 1 – foot leaves, making it 8 feet long, you can comfortably seat 10 to 12 people. That’s like having your own little banquet right at home!

A 4 – foot wide table is more luxurious, but you might not be able to fit as many tables in a room if you’re hosting a big event.
Another thing to consider is the shape of the table. We’ve got rectangular, oval, and even some unique custom shapes. Rectangular tables are the most common and are great for maximizing the number of seats. You can line people up on both sides and at the ends. Oval tables are a bit more stylish and can give a softer look to a room. They’re also good for conversation because there aren’t any sharp corners. But when it comes to seating capacity, a rectangular table of the same length will usually seat more people.
Now, I know some of you are thinking about those corner cases. Like, what if you’ve got really small kids? Well, you can definitely squeeze in a few extra little ones. Kids don’t need as much space as adults, so you might be able to add 1 – 2 more depending on their age and size. And if you’re using benches instead of chairs, you can often fit a few more people as well. Benches are a great option for making the most of the available space.
So, to sum it all up, the number of people an extendable table can seat can vary widely. It ranges from 4 for a small, non – extended table all the way up to 16 or more for a large, fully extended table.
